I’ve been kinda focused on doing some art journaling over the past few days and am liking the results. The best part of it is that it really takes me away from all of the everyday stresses and I can escape into color…

I’ve been surfing the web looking at different sites to find some good classes to take over the next few months. Just signed up to attend a class in Ohio with Teesha Moore, the world’s best art journaler (in my opinion). I just LOVE her use of color and line, and she has such a quirky sense of humor…I love that about her. She doesn’t really teach many classes anymore, so this is just one of a few this year. I’m also signing up to attend Journalfest in Washington state in October, to learn from lots of other artists and start learning some new techniques.

So I’m noticing a pattern this week, with hearts and flowers. What’s that all about? I dunno, but I really like the way the flowers look when they’re outlined in thick white ink….I think it makes the colors really pop and I like it. And hearts? Well, guess I’m just in the mood for spring.

Turns out this afternoon I got the first printed cards with some of my artwork on them. The goal is to start selling them to a few local stores and see how it goes. With any luck I’ll be starting up an Etsy site and sell them soon. How cool is that???
